Wenceslas Square

Wenceslas Square

The statue of Wenceslas Square is shown here, surrounded by thousands of people protesting.

During the General Strike on November 27th, thousands of people came out to support the revolution. The two hour General Strike was supported by workers, anti-communists, and communists alike as they gathered in support.

The image of people holding signs and protesting together is certainly powerful as they surround the Square. Workers were so concerned about the time they spent striking that they made up for it later by working two extra hours. Students even participated, and those who were unable to directly be there showed their support in other ways.
